The end of summer has come, school has started again, and a few leaves have begun to turn. This is my favorite time of year! I always feel energized, and no "spring allergies" to deal with!
For the past two months, I have been the director of The Senior Serenaders out of the Fort Collins Sr. Center. There are four of us who share directing responsibilities for this group, and two of us who share accompaniment duties. It has been great fun, and I've taken the opportunity to share some short vocal tips with the group. I think they sound better, and many have stopped after rehearsals to tell me that they really like my lessons and clear directing! I'm really pleased to help them. In November, I will be accompanying again (last time was July), and in January, will direct again. I am enjoying them very much! We don't do complicated music, mostly oldies but goodies to share with retirement and nursing homes in the area twice a month, and much of it is unison, but they sing on pitch and love what they are doing. :) So do I.
Sing on! Nance
